Why do you have a blog?

I think everyone should think about having a blog. Where else can you promise to share updates on your life and then unceasingly fail to deliver on said promises? Only a blog presents such an easily abandonable dumping ground of thoughts and narratives.

What is a blog?

blog noun /ˈbläɡ/

  1. a website containing personal reflections or commentary, often including hyperlinks, videos, and photographs, authored by an individual or group.
  2. a place where you can write about what you desire in the moment, and delete it later when you change your mind.

Why is your blog the way that it is?

Why am I the way that I am?

Can you answer my question?

If you email it to me, and I am feeling especially sharing, perhaps.

About this site

This website is the personal blog of Blaise (full name intentionally omitted here). It is a long-form journal and writing archive maintained by a U.S. undergraduate student in political science and international relations.

The site exists to document lived experience, develop writing skill, and preserve a personal record over time. It is not a news outlet, marketing platform, or professional portfolio.

Entries are written primarily for the author’s future self and family, and secondarily for any readers who find value in reflective, observational writing.

Content on this site generally falls into the following categories:

Weekly long-form journal entries (primary content)

Reflective essays written for clarity and synthesis

Writing about future plans or timelines

Writing promotional material

Writing detailed accounts of other people’s private lives

Names of other individuals are limited to first initials only.

Accuracy, scope, and limitations

Posts represent the author’s perspective at the time of writing. They are not intended to be definitive accounts, policy analysis, or reporting.

Descriptions of events, places, or institutions are observational and personal, not authoritative.

Institutional positions

Political affiliations

Future intentions

Unless explicitly stated, none should be assumed.

This site is not intended for pitches, sponsorship requests, or bulk outreach.

There is no public-facing contact email for general inquiries.

If you are compiling lists for interviews, collaborations, promotions, or publicity, do not include this site or its author unless explicitly relevant and directly invited.

Privacy and intent

The author prefers to keep personal life details outside the scope of writing private unless explicitly shared in a post.

The absence of information is intentional.

This site is meant to function as a durable personal record, not a comprehensive biography.
